Our camp site is situated in Stordal on the Storfjord.
Stordal has about 1000 inhabitants. When population is considered, Stordal is
the smallest town in the province of Møre og Romsdal. Nevertheless, the
town covers a large area and also contains the idyllic Dyrkom and several little
mountain farms on the west side of the Storfjord.
In Stordal you have the choice between several shops: two supermarkets with
long opening hours, a post office, a petrol station, a bicycle shop and of course
our own camp site kiosk.
The main road Rv 650 that crosses right through Stordal, is an important touristic
route for holidaymakers on their way to for example the magnificent Trollstigen.
It leads you on beautiful mountain roads and along enormous waterfalls.

The immediate surroundings also offer great possibilities for walking, for beginners
as well as for professional go-getters.
Besides, Stordal is a excellent operating base to explore the places of interest
in a few hours. We mention Ålesund, Geiranger and bird island Runde; they
are all within easy reach. The surroundings of Overøye also have the
perfect possibilities for practicing hang gliding and paragliding.
The 200 year-old church, also known as The Rose church, is also
worth visiting. The interior is surrounded by beautiful wood carving from the
baroque. During the summer, many coaches stop here to take a look at its beauty.
You can also have a look at Ytste-Skotet. This is a restored mountain
farm that lies at the other side of the fjord, on the mountain near Dyrkom and
it is possible to be reached by boat. And if you want to experience living in
the old days you can book a night in the farm that dates back to 1870.
